APH_Krieg Ohne Hass

A quick explanation of this piece. It shows Germany and England (not being a jerk for once ) being separated by a barbed wire fence meant to contained POWs. You're not suppose to be able to tell who is the prisoner and who is the captor.

I'm surprised I've waited so long to do a piece about this because this was what got me really into WWII history. Krieg ohne Hass translates as 'war without hate', which was how Field Marshall Erwin Rommel aka 'The Desert Fox' described the North Africa campaign where both sides practice, what many have veterans attested to, a code of chivalry.

There are many fascinating and touching accounts of such conduct. The most common examples are fair treatment of POWs and tending the wounded (friend and enemy alike) under the same tents.
