England in my mind is such a snarky bastard XD Which is why I like to draw him.
Like all WWII geeks out there know, Germany never wanted to go to war with the UK for both logical and sentimental reasons. So when a British and German officer met (in fiction or stating fact, whether it's serious or comedic), a high chance that the latter would state his profound regret that they are at war. The former would be polite but wouldn't really give a damn.
